A hitting mat you build around your own swing. The Carl's Place HotShot™ Golf Mat System lets you pick the mat size and the hitting strip, and the strip swaps out on its own. When the hitting area wears down, you replace the strip and keep the mat.
Why golfers like it
-
Easy on your joints: a dense, cushioned fiber surface built for long practice sessions, not just a few swings.
-
Hit off real tees: the Standard strip takes a real wooden tee, so your setup feels like it does on the course.
-
Swap the strip, keep the mat: the hitting area lifts out and drops back in, which keeps long-term costs down.
-
Indoor or outdoor: made for heavy use in a simulator bay, a garage, or the backyard.
Pick your size
Every HotShot mat is 1¾" thick.
-
4' x 5': offset hitting area. The compact choice for one golfer.
-
5' x 8': offset hitting area with more room to stand.
-
4' x 9': centered hitting area, so right- and left-handed players can share it.
-
6' x 10': centered hitting area. Our pick for full simulator bays.
Each size has three holes for a rubber tee holder.
Pick your hitting strip
Carl's Place makes three strips in-house in Milton, Wisconsin. Each one measures 30" x 12" x 1.75".
-
Standard HotShot™ Strip: the same fiber as the rest of the mat, and it takes real tees.
-
HotShot™ Foam Divot Strip: softer underfoot and gentler on wrists and elbows.
-
HotShot™ Gel Divot Strip: the most fairway-like feel of the three.
Not sure which strip to choose? Lots of golfers get two, one for full swings and one for short-game work. The strips also fit other mats and flooring that are about 1¾" tall.
